Narrandera Shire

Narrandera Shire is located in the Riverina Region of south-western New South Wales, about 430 kilometres north of Melbourne, and 550 kilometres west of Sydney. The Shire encompasses a total land area of about 4,100 square kilometres. Rural land is used largely for farming, particularly cereal cropping and sheep grazing.

Lake Talbot Water Park is a whole new level of excitement. Make a splash in the pools or slide into summer via one of the three slides - you can even race your friends in the enclosed high-speed racer slide! The new splash park is open and accessible for everyone to enjoy. The beautiful lawned pool surrounds offer shady picnic spots, barbecues, pool-level change rooms, and easy access for the whole family.

Using over 120 litres of paint applied to the murals and river that connects the two artworks, the outcome is an incredible sight to behold. With the best view across town, visitors and residents are able to head to the water tower and immerse themselves in a visual collection of landmarks, activities, flora and fauna that resonates with our community. The stories behind the design include significate icons for the Narrandera Shire Community with the colours inspired by our local environment including the colours of sunsets viewed from this site.

The Barellan Museum was created to preserve local history. As amateur historians, the Barellan Museum Committee have created these displays to the best of their knowledge and ability and trust that this will be a memorable journey through days of old, for young and old alike, keeping the country spirit alive.
