Specialist Support for Movement, Function and Independence

What Is Neurological Physiotherapy?

Neurological physiotherapy is an area of physiotherapy focused on supporting people living with conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nervous system. These conditions can impact movement, balance, coordination, strength, sensation and the ability to carry out everyday activities.

At Physio Inq, our neuro physiotherapists deliver evidence-based assessment and treatment in the home and community, providing therapy in the environments where clients actually live and function. This approach supports more meaningful and sustainable rehabilitation outcomes, as therapy can be directly applied to the tasks and spaces that form part of daily life.

Our neuro physiotherapists work with people living with a broad range of neurological conditions and have experience supporting clients from newly diagnosed through to those managing long-term or progressive conditions.

Conditions our neuro physiotherapists work with include:

  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Guillain-Barré syndrome
  • Motor neurone disease (MND)
  • Huntington’s disease
  • Brain tumour-related neurological changes
  • Hereditary neurological conditions

What our neuro physiotherapists can help with:

  • Gait and walking rehabilitation
  • Balance training and falls prevention
  • Strength and endurance for daily activities
  • Spasticity, rigidity and tremor management
  • Functional movement and transfer training
  • Fatigue management
  • Exercise programs tailored to neurological needs
  • NDIS functional capacity assessments

All programs are developed collaboratively with the client, their family and care team, and are adjusted regularly to reflect progress and any changes in the person’s condition.

How We Deliver Neurological Physiotherapy

Physio Inq delivers neurological physiotherapy across three service channels, ensuring consistent and accessible support for people living with neurological conditions.

In Your Home

Home-based neuro physiotherapy is particularly valuable for people with neurological conditions because it allows therapy to be applied directly in the environment where daily movement challenges occur. Our physiotherapists can work on goals such as safe navigation of the home, getting up from chairs and beds, managing fatigue across the day, and maintaining independence in self-care tasks.

Removing the need to travel to a clinic also reduces the physical demands on clients who may experience significant fatigue or mobility challenges.

In Your Community

For clients working on community participation goals, Physio Inq can deliver therapy in community settings such as local parks, gyms or supported accommodation. This supports confidence and function in environments beyond the home.

Online (Telehealth)

Telehealth neuro physiotherapy is available for exercise program delivery, carer education, progress reviews and ongoing support. It is particularly useful as a complement to in-person sessions, or for clients in regional and rural areas.

Who We Support

Physio Inq’s neurological physiotherapy services are available to people living with a broad range of neurological conditions, across all ages and at every stage of their journey.

People Living with Parkinson’s Disease

Our neuro physiotherapists work with people living with Parkinson’s disease to address gait, balance, rigidity and tremor, and to support daily function and independence. Programs are evidence-based and adapted to the person’s current stage of the condition.

People Living with Multiple Sclerosis

We support people with MS to manage fatigue, maintain strength and mobility, and adapt therapy as the condition changes over time. Programs are designed to be sustainable and adjusted to accommodate fluctuating symptoms.

People Living with Cerebral Palsy

Our physiotherapists work with children and adults with cerebral palsy to support movement, function, spasticity management and participation in daily life. We work collaboratively with the client’s broader support network.

NDIS Participants

Physio Inq is a registered NDIS provider. Neurological physiotherapy can be funded under Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living supports. We support self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed participants and provide all required documentation and reporting.
