Bassendean

The Town of Bassendean is located in Perth's north-eastern suburbs, about 10 kilometres from the Perth GPO. The Town of Bassendean is bounded by the City of Swan in the north and east, the Swan River and the City of Belmont in the south and the City of Bayswater in the west. The Town of Bassendean is a predominantly residential area, with some commercial and industrial areas. The Town encompasses a total land area of 11 square kilometres, including substantial parklands and river frontage areas.

The Railway Museum at Bassendean, Perth Western Australia is Western Australia's premier museum devoted to railway history. The collection is highly significant as it is the only such one in Western Australia that aims to tell the story of all railways across the state.
Located at the end of West Road, Bassendean. This large reserve area includes both open grassed areas and tree shaded areas. Right on the Swan River it is a popular spot in summer, and is the location of several local events.
Ashfield Flats the largest remaining river flat in the Perth Metropolitan area, is listed as Bush Forever site No. 214 and named in the Directory of Important Wetlands in Australia. The area falls under the management of three bodies — the majority is vested with the WA Planning Commission (WAPC), the two drains are managed by the Water Corporation and the remainder is vested with the Town of Bassendean.
