What is Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy (OT) is an evidence-based allied health discipline focused on helping people participate in the everyday activities that are meaningful to them - everything from self-care and household tasks to work, study and community involvement. OTs assess the relationship between a person, their environment and the activities they want or need to do, and provide practical strategies, modifications and support to improve independence and function.
Mobile OT takes this support directly to the client. Rather than attending a clinic, our occupational therapists travel to the home, school, workplace or community setting where daily life happens. This allows therapy to be applied immediately and practically, making it more relevant, effective and accessible, particularly for people who face barriers to attending a clinic.
We work collaboratively with clients, families, carers and other allied health professionals to ensure support is coordinated and goal-directed.
