NDIS Exercise Physiology in Mornington Peninsula Physio Inq

Mornington Peninsula NDIS Exercise Physiology

NDIS exercise physiology refers to exercise physiology services delivered to eligible NDIS participants as part of their funded support plan. Physio Inq is a registered NDIS provider, supporting participants who are self-managed, plan-managed or agency-managed across Australia.

Exercise physiology under the NDIS focuses on helping participants build physical capacity, improve function and work towards the independence and participation goals outlined in their plan. Accredited Exercise Physiologists design individualised exercise programs that address the specific functional impacts of a participant’s disability, delivered in environments that are practical and meaningful to their daily life.

Our NDIS exercise physiologist clinicians with experience supporting participants across a wide range of disability types, including neurological conditions, physical disability, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, acquired brain injury and complex health needs.

Our NDIS exercise physiology services include:

  • Individualised exercise programs aligned to NDIS capacity building goals
  • Strength, balance and mobility programs to improve daily function
  • Cardiovascular fitness programs tailored to disability and health status
  • Exercise programs for neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s and MS
  • Physical activity support for participants with mental health conditions
  • Exercise programs for participants with intellectual disability
  • Fatigue management through graded exercise programs
  • Support for participants transitioning to independent exercise
  • Carer and support worker education on exercise program implementation
  • Progress reporting and documentation for NDIS plan reviews

All programs are developed collaboratively with the participant, their support coordinator and, where relevant, other members of their allied health and care team.

How We Deliver Exercise Physiology

Physio Inq delivers exercise physiology across three service channels, ensuring flexible, accessible support regardless of location or circumstances.

In Your Home

Home-based exercise physiology allows sessions to take place in the environment where the client lives and functions. Our exercise physiologists design programs using available home space and equipment or bring portable equipment as needed, ensuring exercise is practical, achievable and immediately relevant to daily life.

Removing the need to travel to a clinic is particularly important for clients managing fatigue, mobility limitations, disability or complex health conditions, where the demands of attending a clinic can be a significant barrier to consistent exercise participation.

In Your Community

For clients who prefer to exercise in a community setting, our exercise physiologists can deliver sessions in local parks, gyms, community centres and supported accommodation environments. Community-based sessions support social participation goals and can be particularly motivating for long-term exercise adherence.

Online (Telehealth)

Telehealth exercise physiology is available for program delivery, coaching, progress reviews and education sessions. It is effective for many aspects of exercise prescription and is particularly useful for clients in regional or remote areas, or for regular check-ins between in-person sessions.

Participants with Neurological Conditions

Our exercise physiologists have experience working with participants living with cerebral palsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions. Programs use evidence-based approaches to support neuroplasticity, maintain function and manage condition-specific challenges.

Participants with Mental Health Conditions

For NDIS participants living with psychosocial disability or mental health conditions, exercise physiology provides structured, supportive physical activity programs that build confidence, routine and wellbeing alongside physical fitness.

Support Coordinators and Plan Managers

We work closely with support coordinators and plan managers to streamline referrals, provide timely progress reports and ensure services are well-coordinated with the participant’s broader support network.

Families and Carers

Our exercise physiologists provide practical guidance for families and carers on how to support participants to continue their exercise program safely and effectively between sessions.

  • Everyday Movement and Confidence: Exercise physiology programs are designed to support everyday movement, like walking, getting in and out of bed and more.
  • Strength and Fitness Support: Goal-directed strength and fitness activities can help you feel steadier and more capable when completing tasks like carrying groceries or going up the stairs.
  • Mobility and Postural Control: Support may focus on improving mobility, function, and postural control, making sitting, standing and moving feel safer when possible.
