What Is Mobile Physiotherapy?
Mobile physiotherapy is a professional allied health service in which a qualified physiotherapist travels directly to the client; rather than the client travelling to a clinic.
Sessions are delivered in the home, in community settings, or via online Telehealth consultations, depending on what best suits the individual's needs, goals, and circumstances.
At Physio Inq, our mobile physiotherapists are AHPRA-registered clinicians who deliver evidence-based assessment and treatment within the environments where clients actually live, learn, and participate in everyday life.
This approach means therapy is immediately applicable to real-life routines; whether that's moving safely around the home, building strength for daily tasks, or working towards greater independence and community participation.
Mobile physiotherapy is particularly well-suited to individuals who experience barriers to accessing traditional clinic-based care, including those living with disability, people managing chronic health conditions, older Australians, and clients in regional or rural areas.
What our Physiotherapists can help with:
- Improving mobility, balance, and physical function
- Building strength and endurance for daily activities
- Supporting safe movement and transfers at home
- Fall prevention and home safety assessment
- Neurological rehabilitation, including stroke and Parkinson's disease
- Post-operative and post-hospitalisation recovery
- Exercise programs tailored to disability and chronic condition management
- Functional capacity assessments for NDIS planning purposes
- Equipment prescription and home modification recommendations
- Pain management using evidence-based techniques
Every session is goal-directed and tailored to the individual. Treatment plans are developed in collaboration with the client, their family or carer, and where relevant, other members of their care team, including doctors.
How We Deliver Mobile Physiotherapy
Physio Inq delivers mobile physiotherapy across three service channels, designed to provide flexible, accessible care regardless of a client's location or circumstances.
In Your Home
Our physiotherapists come directly to you. Home-based sessions allow treatment to take place in the environment where clients spend most of their time, which means therapy can be immediately applied to real-world tasks and routines.
Delivering care in the home also removes common barriers to accessing physiotherapy; including travel, parking, waiting rooms, and the physical demands of attending a clinic.
For clients with significant mobility limitations, fatigue, or complex care needs, this can make a meaningful difference to both engagement and outcomes.
Home visits are available across metropolitan, regional, and rural Australia. Our physiotherapists bring all necessary equipment to each session, and appointments are scheduled at a time that suits the client and their support network.
Not sure which delivery option suits your client or situation?

In Your Community
For clients who spend time in schools, childcare settings, workplaces, gyms, or supported accommodation, Physio Inq can deliver physiotherapy within those community environments. This approach allows therapy to be integrated directly into the spaces where clients participate in everyday life, making goals more relevant and progress more practical.
Community-based delivery is particularly beneficial for paediatric clients, NDIS participants working on community participation goals, and adults in supported living arrangements.
Online (Telehealth)
Our Telehealth physiotherapy service connects clients with experienced physiotherapists via secure video consultation.
Telehealth is available as a standalone service or in combination with in-person visits, and is well-suited to clients in remote areas, those with significant access challenges, or those managing ongoing programs that benefit from regular check-ins without requiring a home visit.
Telehealth sessions can include guided exercise programs, movement assessment, pain management education, and progress reviews. For NDIS participants, Telehealth physiotherapy can be funded under the same supports as in-person services.

Who We Support
Physio Inq's mobile physiotherapy services are designed to support people across a range of ages, conditions, and life circumstances. Our team has extensive experience working with clients whose needs cannot always be met by traditional clinic-based care.
NDIS Participants
Physio Inq is a registered NDIS provider. We support participants who are self-managed, plan-managed, or agency-managed, and work closely with support coordinators and plan managers to ensure services are aligned with each participant's NDIS goals.
Our NDIS physiotherapy services include functional capacity assessments, mobility and independence programs, exercise physiology integration, equipment prescription, and ongoing therapy tailored to disability-related support needs. We provide timely reporting and documentation to support NDIS reviews and plan renewals.
We understand the complexity of navigating the NDIS, and our team is experienced in communicating clearly with participants, families, and coordinators throughout the referral and service delivery process.
People Living with Disability
Our physiotherapists work with individuals living with a wide range of disability types, including neurological conditions, physical disability, acquired brain injury, developmental disability, and complex health conditions. Therapy is planned around each person's functional goals, daily routines, and the environments in which they live and participate.
We work collaboratively with families, carers, support workers, and other allied health professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
Older Australians
Physio Inq provides mobile physiotherapy for older Australians living at home or in residential aged care, including those accessing services through Support At Home packages (formerly known as Home Care Package (HCP)).
Our aged care physiotherapy services focus on fall prevention, strength and balance programs, stroke rehabilitation, chronic condition management, and supporting clients to remain safe, active, and independent for as long as possible. We work in close collaboration with Home Care Package providers, case managers, and family members to ensure therapy aligns with each client's care plan and personal goals.
Children and Young People
Our paediatric mobile physiotherapists support children and young people in home, school, and childcare settings. Seeing children in their familiar environments allows therapy to be directly connected to the activities and routines that matter most; including play, classroom participation, and physical development.
Our paediatric physiotherapists work closely with families, teachers, and other allied health professionals to ensure therapy is consistent, practical, and meaningful within the child's daily life.
Family Members and Carers
We recognise that families and carers often play a central role in coordinating and supporting a person's therapy. Our team communicates clearly and consistently with carers throughout the service, providing practical guidance, progress updates, and recommendations that can be incorporated into daily routines between sessions.
If you are supporting a family member and would like to discuss their needs before making a referral, we welcome that conversation. Contact our team on 1300 731 733 or use our online Make a Referral Form.

Can NDIS funding be used for mobile physiotherapy?
Yes. Physio Inq is a registered NDIS provider. Mobile physiotherapy can be funded under Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living supports, depending on the participant's plan and goals. We support self-managed, plan-managed, and agency-managed participants.
What does a home physiotherapy session involve?
Your physiotherapist will conduct an initial assessment to understand your condition, goals, and home environment. From there, they will develop a personalised treatment plan and deliver hands-on therapy, exercise guidance, and education at each visit. All necessary equipment is brought to the session.
What equipment does the mobile physiotherapist bring, and how much space is needed in my home?
Your therapist brings everything required, including a portable massage table, towels, and exercise equipment. You only need enough space for a treatment table (roughly the size of a yoga mat) with a small amount of room to move around it. A living room or bedroom is usually more than sufficient.
How quickly can a physiotherapist be arranged?
In most cases, we are able to confirm an appointment within 48 hours of receiving a referral. Our team responds to all enquiries the same business day they are received.
Do you provide reports for NDIS plan reviews?
Yes. Physio Inq provides clinical reports, progress updates, and functional capacity assessments to support NDIS plan reviews and coordination. Our team works closely with support coordinators and plan managers throughout the process.
What if mobile physiotherapy is not available in my area?
If in-home services are not currently available in your location, our telehealth physiotherapy service ensures you can still access qualified physiotherapy support from anywhere in Australia. Contact our team to discuss the best option for your situation.
Can a family member or carer be present during sessions?
Yes, and we actively encourage it where appropriate. Having a family member or carer present can support continuity between sessions, and our physiotherapists will provide guidance and practical strategies that can be incorporated into daily routines.
